About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Cell Leader for the AWW Shift to provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building. The role involves developing an efficient team responsible for engine assembly, establishing performance standards, and providing continuous feedback. The Cell Leader will collaborate with other departments and customers to ensure satisfaction and address issues, while engaging the workforce in achieving production goals. Responsibilities include resource allocation, coaching employees, performing administrative functions for bargaining unit employees (training, quality, attendance records), and managing cell overtime equitably. A strong focus on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is required, including ensuring employees are trained, maintaining a safe culture, responding promptly to EHS requirements, and optimizing equipment uptime. The role also requires active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing tools to enhance production, reduce scrap/rework, and meet planned improvement levels. Compliance with all Quality policies and procedures is essential, controlling quality, productivity, and process flow to meet Material Requirement Planning (MRP) needs and ensure high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations, production, quality or related industrial environment OR Associate's degree and minimum 4 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations, production, quality or related industrial environment
  • In absence of a degree, 6 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations, production, quality or related industrial environment
  • Experience in MS Office applications, specifically MS PowerPoint and Excel
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through employee meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsible for engine assembly.
  • Establish standards and expectation for work effort and performance for subordinates.
  • Give constant feedback on performance to those standards.
  • Communicate with other department personnel and customers to ensure customer satisfaction and actively to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving production goals.
  • Allocate and assigning resources, coach employees to improve performance when needed.
  • Perform administrative functions as related to bargaining unit employees including maintaining training, quality, and attendance records.
  • Manage cell overtime and equitably distribute among employees.
  • Ensure that all employees are fully trained in required aspects of Environmental Health & Safety, World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all Environmental Health & Safety requirements promptly.
  • Ensure department equipment is clean, properly maintained, records and labels properly affixed, and uptime optimized while meeting all safety requirements.
  • Ensure full involvement in continuous improvement initiatives is consistently upheld.
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to improve production, performance, and reduce scrap, rework, and repair.
  • Achieve continuous improvement levels as planned.
  • Ensure compliance to all Quality policies and procedures.
  • Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet customer Material Requirement Planning (MRP) requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
