About The Position

This role is for a Cell Leader in the Fabrication department, responsible for overseeing daily operations, including operating machinery like Punch, Laser, or Press Brakes. The Cell Leader assists the supervisor with daily work assignments and directs employees within the department. Additional work area assignments may also apply.

Requirements

  • Ability to work from drawings, prints, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in operating fabrication machinery.
  • Understanding of safety practices and use of PPE.
  • Ability to complete quality assurance inspections and paperwork.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Visual and aural acuity.
  • Listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work from drawings, prints, following best practices and utilizing work instructions to process all fabricated parts through the fabrication department.
  • Use a variety of machines along with hand and power tools as needed to accomplish work assignments.
  • Lead morning Tier Meetings with their direct reports in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Update Production Tier Boards and provide updates to the team members at our daily 9:10 AM Tier Meetings as required by the fabrication supervisor.
  • Ensure scheduled orders are processed per the production schedule to meet downstream customer’s delivery dates.
  • Direct and assist fabrication department employees with daily work assignments.
  • Assist supervisor with skills and knowledge development of existing and new employees.
  • Ensure daily labor is entered and in-process check sheets are completed as required.
  • Responsible for safety awareness and enforcement of safety practices (including the use of PPE).
  • Complete quality assurance inspection and in-process paperwork as required.
  • Maintain safe, and organized work area.
  • Notify supervisor or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, or documentation.
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
