About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks fitted with front-, side-, or rear-end load-lift attachments, depending on the line of business and vehicle. When trucks reach legal load capacity, drivers transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The role may involve collecting commercial waste or recyclables from containers, residential household waste or recyclables, or large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. Drivers navigate congested roads, driveways, alleyways, and lots, and some routes may involve tight overhead environments. The work requires careful vehicle operation and skilled backing maneuvers. This is a safety-sensitive role. Drivers must comply with company safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. They perform vehicle inspections, report safety or service issues, follow assigned routes, communicate customer requests and route interruptions, and complete required documentation. The role includes pre-employment screening and may include ongoing drug and alcohol testing in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
