About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front-, side-, or rear-end load lift attachments, depending on the line of business and vehicle type. They transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial drivers pick up containers, which may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be maneuvered to a pickup area. Residential drivers collect household waste or recyclable material, while roll-off drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. The work involves navigating congested roads, driveways, alleyways, and lots; roll-off routes may also involve tight overhead environments. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential for some duties. This is a safety-sensitive role. The successful candidate must follow safety rules and protocols and may be subject to drug and alcohol testing under applicable regulations and company policies. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 5 a.m. start time and some weekends. The listed pay range is $22.00 to $31.00 per hour.
