About The Position

In this role, the driver operates heavy collection equipment, performs daily safety inspections, and helps keep the community clean and running smoothly. The position involves driving residential routes and working with Helpers and Supervisors to support efficient daily operations.

Requirements

• Valid CDL A and a clean Driver’s Abstract and MVR.
• Minimum X year of commercial driving experience.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy commercial collection vehicles and hydraulic packer systems.
• Ability to satisfy company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
• Strong attendance record and flexibility to support early morning start schedules and operational overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an Automated Side-Load (ASL), Rear Pack, or Roll Off collection truck along assigned residential routes.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required trip logs and paperwork.
• Collect residential waste and recycling materials in accordance with route schedules and corporate safety protocols.
• Operate hydraulic and compaction systems properly to prevent equipment damage.
• Promptly report mechanical write-ups, route hazards, and safety incidents to management.
• Maintain high route productivity, customer service standards, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Follow traffic laws, municipal bylaws, company safety policies, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
• Work closely with Helpers and Supervisors to support efficient daily operations.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership.
