About The Position
Bear General Contractors is a growing construction company based in Pensacola, FL, committed to delivering high-quality results on every project. We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our Site/Civil crew.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate
- Ability to perform a complete pre-trip inspection on an assigned dump truck
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude to identify and troubleshoot on-site equipment issues
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.; must be able to stand, lift, and kneel for extended periods
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating a dump truck or similar heavy vehicle
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Foreman/Superintendent to determine delivery schedules and load details
- Operate dump truck safely and in full compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain daily equipment checklists
- Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled and in good working condition at all times
- Report any vehicle deficiencies or mechanical issues to the Foreman/Superintendent promptly
- Maintain accurate and organized delivery and mileage records
- Assist with manual labor tasks on-site as needed
- Operate skid steer or similar equipment when not driving the dump truck
- Uphold all construction site safety standards and protocols
