About The Position

The CDL truck driver will be responsible for transporting materials from one place to another, operating commercial vehicles or tractor-trailers, ensuring all materials are properly secured, and ensuring the transport is safe and efficient. This role requires the ability to drive all of our lines, including roll-off, rear-load, side-load, front-load, and straight-trailer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL B or A license with an air brake endorsement
  • 1-3 years of commercial driving experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment
  • 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the US
  • Physical ability to handle objects more than 50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to work under many different weather conditions
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of commercial driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs pre/post trip inspections of assigned vehicle in accordance with Casella safety standards as well as state and federal regulations; performs and exhibits dedication to safe operation of vehicle on streets, highways, customer sites, and at facilities.
  • Maintains Driver's daily logs and documents materials picked up as required.
  • Provides a distinguishably different level of service through courteous interactions with all customers and provides service in a timely manner.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude towards company, customer, and other Casella employees.
  • Maintains appearance of truck in accordance with company standards.
  • Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs and safety meetings as required by Casella or Manager.
  • Notifies supervisor of any service interruptions, incidents, accidents, property damage, or unsafe situations immediately.
  • Exhibits an ability to be continuously observant and aware of all surroundings.
  • Maneuvers vehicle into loading or unloading positions and completes necessary steps to swap trailers properly and safely.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
