About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a safety-conscious Front Load CDL Truck Driver in Charlotte, North Carolina. The position involves operating a front-load truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste and serving customers courteously. The role is suited to drivers seeking secure, steady employment in a family atmosphere. The job is physically demanding and includes repeatedly entering and exiting the truck cab, opening corrals, and handling refuse. The driver performs vehicle inspections, operates hydraulic controls to lift and load refuse, and disposes of trash at designated facilities. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Waste industry experience required.
Possess a clean safety and driving record.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly climb in and out of the truck cab.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, pull, push, reach, and grasp.

Nice To Haves

Front-load CDL driving experience is very strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a front-load truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service the customers listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the CDL vehicle and identify areas requiring attention.
Repeatedly climb in and out of the cab and open corrals as needed.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
