About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a safety-conscious Front Load CDL Truck Driver in Charlotte, NC, to operate assigned routes collecting solid waste. The role involves servicing customers, inspecting the vehicle, loading refuse, and disposing of trash at designated facilities. The position is overtime eligible and includes paid training, a boot allowance, provided uniforms, quarterly safety bonuses of up to $1,000, and the opportunity to earn an annual team safety bonus. Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
Waste industry experience required.
A clean safety and driving record.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly climb in and out of the truck cab, bend, stoop, twist, pull, push, reach, and grasp.

Nice To Haves

Front Load CDL driving experience is very strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Front Load truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the CDL vehicle and identify areas requiring attention.
Perform physically demanding work, including repeatedly climbing in and out of the cab and opening corrals.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
