About The Position

Residential Front Load Drivers service customers on assigned routes by collecting and hauling waste or recycling materials to disposal sites or recycling plants. The role involves operating different types of trucks and requires strong driving and maneuvering skills. Drivers provide customer service, maintain route records and vehicle cleanliness, conduct inspections, and follow safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures when cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body. This position does not manage employees.

Requirements

Have at least a valid Class B CDL.
Have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire.
Be at least 19 years of age.
Have no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
Have no DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years, or 2 in the last 10 years.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Hold a valid driver’s license, if applicable.
Successfully complete pre-employment testing.
Read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Be able to read and understand a map.
Be able to drive all types of trucks in the residential fleet.
Have excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
Have general knowledge of truck mechanics.
Have good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Be able to travel between offices as required.
Be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed, and work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
Meet the stated physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 100 pounds at the frequencies described in the posting.
Be able to work outside in changing temperatures and wet or humid conditions, and in areas with dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter.

Nice To Haves

Waste industry experience.
1–2 years of CDL truck driving experience.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks safely and in compliance with applicable requirements to collect trash or recycling and haul it to a disposal site.
Empty trash and recycling carts into the truck.
Pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings when required.
Return carts neatly to the curb or designated area.
Clean up waste spills and overflows.
Maintain and update route sheets.
Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete logs.
Interact professionally with internal and external customers and provide excellent customer service.
Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body while following proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
