About The Position

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a skilled and reliable CDL Driver for our operations in Golden Meadow, LA. This role involves safely operating commercial motor vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from construction sites, adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating commercial vehicles in a construction or heavy civil environment.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and ability to comply with all hours of service requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading, tarping, and securing loads.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as project demands require.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for logbook completion and communication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of commercial vehicles, including but not limited to dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers, safely and efficiently.
  • Transport construction materials, heavy equipment, and personnel to and from job sites, quarries, and other designated locations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, completing necessary documentation and reporting any defects or malfunctions.
  • Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials, adhering to weight restrictions and securing cargo appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, mileage records, and other required documentation according to DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members regarding schedules, routes, and potential issues.
  • Assist with minor vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle cab and exterior.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to safety at all times, including participating in safety meetings and reporting hazards.
