About The Position

Commercial Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear-end load-lift attachments to pick up waste or recyclable materials in containers, transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility, and serve customer locations. Containers may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be maneuvered to a pickup area. Drivers navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots; skilled backing maneuvers are essential. The broader driver role may also involve residential collection or preparing, loading, and transporting roll-off containers, depending on the line of business and truck operated. Drivers follow assigned routes, complete vehicle inspections and required documentation, maintain clean customer locations, report safety or service issues, and work with Operations Managers or Dispatch to meet customer needs. The position is safety-sensitive and requires compliance with company safety protocols and applicable regulations. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, with start times between 2:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The role is on-site, with a stated expected base pay of $30. WM describes its mission as supporting a sustainable tomorrow and emphasizes a people-first workplace, employee growth, stability, and investment in employees. Eligible employees receive a competitive total compensation package, with benefits varying by site.
