About The Position

Primoris Energy Services is seeking CDL A Truck Drivers for the Nexus APEX EPC Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX. This role involves operating water trucks and tractor trailers to transport various materials such as paving materials, construction supplies, dirt, water, or garbage to and from different locations. The driver will operate trucks equipped with open beds for transporting materials like dirt, rocks, sand, coal, or gravel.

Requirements

  • A valid CDL A license
  • Experience safely operating water trucks and/or tractor trailers
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (Commercial Driver Licenses)
  • CDL A required
  • DOT drug screen, DOT physical, background check, and completion of safety training is a condition of employment
  • Driver must always be in DOT compliance
  • Must be registered DACH
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Operate water trucks and tractor trailers for transportation of materials.
  • Drive trucks equipped with open beds for transporting dirt, rocks, sand, coal, or gravel.
  • Move hand and foot levers to control operating equipment.
  • Interpret hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.
  • Assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects.
  • Manipulate equipment on unleveled working surfaces.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water, fluids) and perform pre and post trip inspections.
  • Inspect material to ensure correct loading and security, and review shipping documents for accuracy.
  • Practice safety rules.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Safe use of hand & power tools.
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
  • Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
  • Work well as part of a team.
