About The Position

The CDL Driver performs duties associated with moving waste trailers at Reworld’s municipal solid waste transfer stations in Paterson, New Jersey. The role operates yard tractors on-site to move trailers for loading with Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), performs vehicle and equipment inspections, and clears debris from trailers before rolling tarps over them. The driver communicates with equipment operators, the site supervisor, the scale attendant, and other site staff using two-way radios. The position also includes maintaining the safety of employees, clients, and the public while operating company vehicles or performing company activities; helping remove litter from the yard; and completing additional assigned duties. This role is covered by a labor union or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), with pay and benefits determined according to the applicable CBA.

Requirements

CDL Class A license required.
Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate travel in a commercial vehicle and federal regulations.
Acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Two or more years of commercial driving experience, including yard tractor experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate yard tractors on-site to move waste trailers for loading with Municipal Solid Waste (MSW).
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
Clear debris from the top of waste trailers and roll tarps over the trailers.
Maintain clear communication with equipment operators, the site supervisor, the scale attendant, and other site staff using two-way radios.
Be responsible for the safety of fellow employees, clients, and the public while operating company vehicles or performing company activities.
Assist with litter removal from the yard.
Complete additional assigned duties.
