About The Position

The Driver position is responsible for safely transporting structural steel materials to various vending and job sites in and around Central Texas. This position involves ensuring the safe loading and unloading of materials while securing them properly for transportation. Drivers will comply with all state, federal, and company regulations to meet safety and quality standards.

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with no restrictions - must be able to drive a manual
DOT Physical Examination (medical card) and Drug Screening
Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a tractor-trailer and hauling materials on a flatbed.
Cannot have more than one (1) moving violation in the past three (3) years
Cannot have any road preventable accidents within the past three (3) years
Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT Guidelines.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customers and personal services.
Knowledge of state regulations regarding weight standards.
Ability to maintain a clean driver’s record and diligent attention to safety.
Ability to work safely, wear required PPE, and participate in all safety programs and commitments.

Nice To Haves

Prior military driving/hauling experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Secure materials by means of chaining, strapping, and blocking under strict accordance and established procedures.
Perform pre- and post- trip inspections; inspect the truck for defects and safe operating conditions, before, during, and after delivery trips.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, and radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
Complete DOT-required drivers' daily log and trip sheets accurately without misrepresentation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
