About The Position

Class A CDL Flatbed / Oversize Driver needed in Lowell, MI. This role primarily serves Michigan with occasional out-of-state travel. The schedule is Monday-Friday, with drivers being home most nights and occasional overnights. Compensation is approximately $95K–$105K+ based on historical driver earnings and load mix. Timpson Transport, Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-owned transportation company specializing in oversize, heavy, and specialized freight. They operate well-maintained equipment supported by an extensive in-house maintenance team and have built a workforce known for long-term driver retention. Timpson Transport is seeking experienced Class A CDL Flatbed Drivers to transport primarily oversize and heavy freight throughout Michigan, with occasional out-of-state trips. Typical loads include precast concrete wall panels, bridge beams, road barriers, and other specialized freight. This is an opportunity for an experienced flatbed driver who wants interesting, specialized work, strong earning potential, an assigned truck, and to be home most nights.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • Minimum 2 years of applicable commercial driving experience.
  • Flatbed experience.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability with oversize/heavy freight.
  • Strong load-securement knowledge.
  • Acceptable MVR and ability to meet insurance requirements.
  • Ability to accommodate occasional overnight/out-of-state trips.
  • Ability to satisfy required drug, MVR, and applicable background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A flatbed and multi-axle equipment.
  • Transport oversize, overweight, and specialized freight.
  • Haul precast concrete panels, bridge beams, road barriers, and other heavy loads.
  • Properly secure large and irregular freight.
  • Follow load permits, approved routes, escort requirements, and travel restrictions.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintain DOT and HOS compliance.
  • Coordinate with dispatch regarding routes, delivery schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Safely navigate construction sites and customer facilities.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and report maintenance concerns.
  • Complete required load and driver documentation.
  • Accommodate occasional overnight and seasonal weekend assignments.
