About The Position

High Country Beverage is Colorado's family-owned beverage distributor, hiring a Delivery Driver Trainee for our Grand Junction facility. This is a paid, full-time entry-level role where you ride along with experienced drivers and work with a CDL instructor. Local routes, no overnights, weekends off, home every afternoon. No prior CDL or commercial driving experience is required. We cover 100% of your Class A CDL training costs. Full-time, Monday through Friday with early morning starts (typically 5:00 to 6:00 a.m.); home daily, evenings off.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age (Federal requirement for interstate commercial driving).
• Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit.
• Must be able to report to work reliably and maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to lift 30-pound cases on a regular basis and handle kegs weighing up to 160 pounds.
• Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully completing applicable background screenings, a post-offer physical examination, and drug screening consistent with company policy and applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Ride with experienced Delivery Drivers on local routes.
• Assist with safe loading, unloading, and customer service while learning the routes and procedures.
• Participate in our paid in-house Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT).
• Earn a CDL learner's permit, then your Class A license on the training plan.
• Help deliver beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to retail accounts using a hand-truck and electric pallet jack.
• Rotate product first-in-first-out at every stop.
• Keep a DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit current throughout training.
• Stay compliant with company drug, alcohol, and motor vehicle policies.
• Reliable attendance and engaged training keep team resources and support available for the rest of the operation.
