About The Position

Crown Distributors is Kansas's family-owned beverage distributor, hiring a Delivery Driver Trainee for our Topeka facility. This is a full-time, entry-level role with local routes and no overnights, meaning you'll be home every afternoon. No prior CDL or commercial driving experience is required, as we cover 100% of your Class A CDL training costs. You will ride along with experienced drivers and work with a CDL instructor. The schedule is Monday through Friday with early morning starts (typically 5:00 to 6:00 a.m.), and you will be home daily with evenings off.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit.
• Must be able to report to work reliably and maintain regular attendance.
• Ability to lift 30-pound cases on a regular basis and handle kegs weighing up to 160 pounds (material handling equipment is used for kegs and pallets).
• Must successfully complete applicable background screenings, a post-offer physical examination, and drug screening.
• Selected candidates will be subject to an MVR & criminal background check and a pre-employment physical/drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Ride with experienced Delivery Drivers on local routes, assisting with safe loading, unloading, and customer service while learning routes and procedures.
• Participate in paid in-house Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) to earn a CDL learner's permit and then a Class A license.
• Help deliver beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to retail accounts using a hand-truck and electric pallet jack, ensuring product rotation (first-in-first-out) at every stop.
• Maintain a current DOT medical card and CDL learner's permit throughout training, and stay compliant with company drug, alcohol, and motor vehicle policies.
• Demonstrate team dependability through reliable attendance and engaged training to ensure team resources and support are available for the operation.

• Pay: $20.20 to $23.40 per hour during training, increasing to $51,900 to $64,600 per year upon promotion to Delivery Driver.
