CDL Delivery Driver Trainee
About The Position
US Foods is seeking a Class A Delivery Driver Trainee with a new CDL A. This role is ideal for new CDL drivers looking to build a career in the foodservice industry. The company offers training, a strong safety culture, and excellent leadership. The position involves safely driving trucks to customers, meeting delivery schedules, and unloading products. The pay structure includes an hourly rate during training, followed by component pay based on miles, cases, and stops, along with other incentives. The schedule is Monday-Friday, with dispatching between 3:00 am and 6:00 am, working until all cases are delivered. Days and hours are subject to change based on business needs. Requirements
- Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
- Less than six months commercial driving experience or less than three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Responsibilities
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
- Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
- Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
