Driver Crude Oil - New Philadelphia
About The Position
Maverik is hiring a dependable, safety-focused Class A CDL driver to transport crude oil from New Philadelphia, Ohio. This is a long-term PM-shift role with daily home time and year-round work. The schedule rotates between five days on and two days off, followed by five days on and three days off. Shift start times are between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM; shifts average 10–12 hours and may occasionally run longer due to weather, traffic, or operational needs. Training may last up to 30 days and is typically conducted on the day shift; after completing training, the driver transitions to the PM shift. The role operates in a 24/7 environment and involves weekend, holiday, and all-weather driving, including winter conditions and chaining when necessary. Drivers use modern, well-maintained manual trucks and must understand Samsara and slip/shared truck seating. The advertised annual pay is $115,000–$125,000, with potential quarterly safety bonuses and profit-sharing earnings.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
- At least 1 year of Class A CDL driving experience.
- Recent experience operating a manual transmission.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Clean driving record (MVR) and a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and road test in a 13–18 speed manual transmission truck.
- Understanding of Samsara and slip/shared truck seating.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Ability to repetitively stand, walk, handle, reach horizontally, and grasp firmly throughout a shift.
- Ability to frequently reach above the shoulder and below the waist, push buttons, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and push throughout a shift.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 75–100 lbs.
- Close, distance, color, and depth vision abilities.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
