About The Position

Sterling Crane LLC is seeking a CDL Crane Rigger for its Midland branch. Sterling Crane USA, founded in 1954, provides operated and bare crane rentals, sales, parts, and service as part of Marmon Holdings. The Crane Rigger works closely with the crane operator, hauls heavy equipment, and assists with building mobile cranes. The position works under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
Successfully pass post-offer drug and physical screens and have a background and MVR that meet company requirements.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
Strong customer service skills for communicating with onsite project managers.
Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, and measurements.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve safety issues.
Willingness to follow safety procedures.
Adhere to substantial standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting requirements.
Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects or materials.

Responsibilities

Inspect all applicable rigging.
Haul heavy materials and equipment.
Know the capacity and weight limits of rigging equipment.
Signal the crane operator during lifts with directional or placement instructions.
Climb structures while wearing a safety harness to guide and position loads.
Ensure rigging is safe and reliable before hoisting and lifting.
