About The Position

Sterling Crane LLC is hiring a CDL Crane Operator for its Midland Yard. The operator safely and efficiently operates cranes while maintaining accuracy in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. Sterling Crane, founded in 1954, provides operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and service in the heavy lift industry, and maintains an inventory of more than 1,000 lifting equipment units.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers, and mobile cranes.
Class A CDL.
Successfully pass post-offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
Dependable and reliable, with flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials, or instructions.
Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions and applicable safety regulations and maintain records.
Strong ability to work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate specialized machinery according to established procedures and guidelines, selecting and setting up the appropriate crane, lift, or hoist.
Inspect and assess ground conditions and potential overhead obstructions.
Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
Maintain logs and records of operational activities.
Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators in accordance with best practices and site safety regulations, and respond clearly and promptly to questions and instructions.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
