About The Position

SA Recycling is a growing scrap metal recycler seeking a CDL Class A Roll Off Heavy Driver. The primary responsibility of this role is to transport materials by driving a Roll off/semi-truck to customer locations, collecting loaded containers, and returning empty ones. Drivers must adhere to all DOT regulations, maintain a professional demeanor with customers, and prioritize safety in all operations, including driving in close quarters within the yard and following traffic controller instructions. Seat belt usage and visibility on camera are mandatory.

Requirements

Must have 3 years of CDL Driving experience with consistent job history.
Must pass a medical DOT physical and drug test.
Must pass a background check, clean MVR with no recent violations, and consent to Clearing House.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.
Roll off and End Dump experience required.
Must be 21 to apply.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills.
End Dump experience.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
Work independently when driving scrap metal.
Work with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
Work with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform normal daily operation maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
Clean up work area at the end of shift.
Keep work areas neat and orderly.
Organize materials for effective use of space.
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
Ensure cleanup is completed through inspection.
Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace area for safety and hygiene.
