About The Position

SA Recycling is one of the largest scrap metal recyclers in the United States and is experiencing significant growth. This position is focused on safety and requires the driver to move material efficiently. The Truck Driver will operate a Roll off/semi-truck to pick up loaded containers from customers and deliver empty ones. Professional conduct with customers and adherence to all DOT regulations, in-yard rules, and traffic controller instructions are essential. Drivers must wear seat belts at all times and be visible on camera.

Requirements

Must have 3 years of CDL Driving experience with consistent job history.
Must pass a medical DOT physical and drug test.
Must pass a background check, clean MVR with no recent violations, and consent to Clearing house.
Roll off and End Dump experience required.
Must be 21 to apply.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
Ability to communicate with others effectively.
Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
Work independently when driving scrap metal.
Work with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
Work with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform normal daily operation maintenance including refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
Clean up work area at the end of shift.
Keep work areas neat and orderly.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.
Organize materials for more effective use of space.
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
Ensure cleanup is completed.
Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace area for safety and hygienic conditions.
