About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver works within Cornerstone Building Brands’ Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry. The role transports and delivers building materials to dealers, distribution centers, and construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. It is a hands-on over-the-road (OTR) delivery position requiring safe driving practices and strong customer service. Some Saturday or occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs, and work hours are flexible. Base pay starts at $35.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• At least 2 years of commercial truck driving experience; equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable.
• Clean driving record.
• Willingness to tarp using Conestoga XP Roll Tarp Systems and strap flatbed loads.
• Ability to operate a trailer-mounted forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver building materials to dealers, distribution centers, and construction job sites using a tractor-trailer.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of the vehicle and equipment.
• Immediately report necessary repairs or maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with DOT guidelines.
• Load and unload the truck using a Manitou or Moffett.
• Verify the full load contents before leaving the manufacturing facility or job site.
• Follow all safety procedures for transporting goods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
