About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is hiring a full-time CDL Class A Driver (LTL) in Bismarck, North Dakota. The role drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 a.m. and continuing until route completion. An estimated 10–15 hours of overtime are expected each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $24.00–$30.75 per hour, based on experience. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery, and it has more than 1,800 employees company-wide. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A license with a driving record that meets company standards, and be able to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The role requires the ability to operate a manual transmission and the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement. The position includes regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds, along with unrestricted movement for grasping, standing, squatting, climbing stairs, and walking. Drivers may handle freight such as hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Have a full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers in a timely manner and pick up freight from shippers.
Verify that all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
Collect payment for shipments when necessary and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
Maintain all certifications required by the DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, deliveries, or pickups as needed.
