About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals. The role is full-time and nonexempt, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 7:30 p.m. start. The position expects 10–15 hours of overtime each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $28.00–$35.50 per hour, based on experience, with starting pay determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered to CDL Class A drivers.

The driver conducts vehicle inspections, completes mileage and maintenance paperwork, maintains required certifications, washes the tractor and equipment daily, and assists other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed. The role requires a valid CDL Class A license and the ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
• Be able to operate a manual transmission.
• Possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
• Have good customer service and organizational skills.
• Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
• Be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and have full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, and walking.
• Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Turn in the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels.
• Maintain all certifications required by DOT and company safety policies.
• Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed.
