About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery, a family-owned company established in 1978, is seeking a CDL Class A Driver for transport operations in Omaha, NE. The company specializes in standard, next-day ground delivery and has expanded throughout the Midwest. The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck to move parcels between terminals. This role is crucial for maintaining the company's efficient delivery network.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
Submit pre-trip forms and complete mileage and maintenance documentation.
Drive between terminals to transport parcels.
Maintain all required certifications mandated by the DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick-up tasks as needed.
