CDL-A Driver (Regional) - Omaha, NE
About The Position
Smithfield Foods is seeking professional truck drivers for regional routes out of Omaha, NE. Drivers will operate late model Freightliner tractors and pull 53’ reefer trailers, making deliveries to plants, company distribution centers, and customer distribution centers. This position offers a strong work-life balance with competitive compensation, averaging over $100,000 annually. Drivers can expect to average a minimum of 2,500+ miles per week with no touch freight and minimal extra stops. The routes are regional, avoiding New York, New England, and western states. Drivers will have their own serviced leased equipment and no slip seating. Anticipated home time is 2 days off per week (48 hours).
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 1-year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver freight over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
