About The Position

The CDL Class A Driver (LTL) drives a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. The role is based in Virginia, Minnesota, and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with a 7:30 a.m. start and work continuing until the route is complete. An additional 10–15 hours of overtime is expected each week, paid at time and a half after 40 hours per week. Pay is $24.00–$30.75 per hour, based on experience. Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery. The company is headquartered in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and employs over 1,800 people company-wide.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license and have a good driving record that meets company standards.
Be able to operate a manual transmission.
Possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Have good customer service and organizational skills.
Be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Be able to pass a DOT physical.
Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Have a full range of motion for grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, and other activities without limitations.
Be able to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct a pre-trip inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Submit the pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms.
Deliver palletized freight to customers in a timely manner and pick up freight from shippers.
Verify that load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
Collect payment for shipments when necessary and return bills of lading to the office for billing.
Maintain all certifications required by the DOT and company safety policies.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, deliveries, or pickups as needed.
