About The Position

QXO is a distributor and installer of building products that aims to modernize the industry through advanced technology and customer experience. The CDL Boom Driver performs deliveries and related touch-freight work, including handling products that may weigh over 75 pounds. The role involves preparing and checking the truck and load, assessing job sites for safety, coordinating with dispatch, and following DOT and company safety procedures. The driver must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and independently as well as with a team.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing.
• NCCCO and Crane Institute Certification required.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs.
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load.
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site.
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
