CDL A Boom Driver

About The Position

The CDL A Boom Operator safely, promptly, and professionally transports building materials, construction products, and equipment to customer locations and job sites. The role combines commercial driving with hands-on loading, unloading, securing, and verifying materials while meeting DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards. Deliveries may include oversized, specialized, or engineered building components. The position is suited to a dependable, safety-focused, customer-oriented person who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
NCCCO Crane Certification.
New York HMO license.
Valid Class A CDL license in good standing.
At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 pounds.
Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify load accuracy.
Notify branch management of potential hazards at a site.
Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading.
Communicate regularly with the dispatcher to support timely deliveries.
Follow DOT and company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
