About The Position

Perry's Solid Waste Disposal is seeking CDL and Non-CDL Drivers ASAP in Oakland, Maryland. This role involves transporting trash, refuse, recycled materials, and porta-johns to and from designated locations. Responsibilities include conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, identifying and reporting mechanical issues and safety concerns, performing preventative maintenance, and complying with all driving regulations and company policies. Drivers will maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions, report any defects, accidents, or violations, and assist loaders with heavy or bulky items as needed.

Requirements

Proven work experience as a truck driver.
No recent moving or driving violations.
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
Valid CDL Drivers license, with current medical card for CDL positions (CDL Positions).
Valid Drivers license for Non-CDL drivers.

Responsibilities

Transport trash, refuse, recycled materials, porta-johns, etc to and from predetermined locations.
Pre- and post-trip inspections of any vehicle to be operated while on duty.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as with company policies and procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Report defects, accidents or violations to supervision.
Assist loader as needed for heavy, or bulky, items.
