About The Position

R+L Carriers is hiring Class A team drivers at its Newark and Kearny, New Jersey service centers. Drivers pull van trailers up to 53 feet or double trailers between service centers and/or turn-point locations. Teams are on the road for five days and home for two days each week. The advertised yearly range is $140,000–$160,000 per driver. Paid time off is available after the first 90 calendar days of employment.

Requirements

• CDL Class A.
• At least one year of combined, verifiable Class A driving experience within the past three years.
• Good driving record/MVR and PSP, with no commercial serious violations and no more than three moving violations total within the past three years.
• At least 23 years old, or 21 if the applicant successfully meets FMCSA specifications to transition from military to civilian CDL.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
• Ability to complete a successful road test.
• Ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependability.

Nice To Haves

• Doubles/Triples, Tanker, and Haz-mat CDL endorsements.
• Experience hauling Haz-mat.
• Experience pulling doubles.
• LTL freight experience.

Responsibilities

• Pull van trailers up to 53 feet or double trailers between service centers and/or turn-point locations.
• Operate equipment safely at all times.
• Travel on the road for five days and be home for two days each week.
