CDL-A Store Delivery Driver - Paid Training - Hand Unload Freight
About The Position
This is a hands-on store delivery driving job based out of a distribution center in Berwick. Drivers average about 1,000 miles per week and complete full hand unloads, often involving 5,000 pieces or more per load. The role includes night driving, weekend work, and tight backing at some stores. Drivers are home weekly for a 34-hour reset, with no deliveries on Thanksgiving or Christmas. New CDL holders may apply. Drivers train with a mentor for 4 to 6 weeks before operating independently. The hiring process begins with a recruiter reviewing the applicant’s license and record. Orientation lasts no more than two days; hotel costs are covered, bus fare is reimbursed, and hired drivers receive $300. After orientation and mentor training, drivers receive an assigned truck. Average weekly gross pay is $1,600 to $1,900, with pay listed at $1.10 per mile, $270 per load for unloading, and $17 per stop. Training pay is $650 per week. Benefits begin after 30 days. Applicants must live within 50 miles of Berwick, Harrisburg, or Bethlehem.
Requirements
- Class A CDL.
- At least 21 years old.
- A CDL school certificate for a program of at least 120 hours, or 6 months of recent driving experience.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
- No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years.
- Pass a DOT physical and hair and urine drug screening.
- Live within 50 miles of Berwick, Harrisburg, or Bethlehem.
- Ability and willingness to perform full hand unloading and other physical work.
Responsibilities
