About The Position

This semi-local CDL A truck driver position operates out of Central New Jersey. The route runs Thursday to Monday, with start times between 10 AM and 2 PM. Drivers can expect to get home 2 to 3 times during the work week. The freight consists of loaded dry van or reefer trailers picked up at customer distribution centers and delivered to retail stores in NJ, NY, CT, MA, NH, and VT, excluding New York City. The work is primarily no-touch, involving drop and hook or live unloads handled by the store. Third-party backhauls are common on return trips, sometimes live loaded. Intermodal or nearby account loads may be assigned when volume is light, paid at the same rates. Every day starts and ends at the East Brunswick yard. The first two weeks involve half-day onboarding followed by 8 days of local account training, requiring drivers to use their own personal transportation for both.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• At least 21 years old.
• Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 3 months in the last 6 with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12, or 12 months in the last 5 years.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• No careless or reckless driving.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No major preventable accidents in 3 years.
• No DUI/DWI in 5 years.
• Pass hair and urine drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Pick up loaded dry van or reefer trailers at customer distribution centers.
• Deliver to retail stores in NJ, NY, CT, MA, NH and VT.
• Perform drop and hook deliveries.
• Handle live unloads (store personnel unload).
• Complete third-party backhauls on return trips.
• Accept intermodal or nearby account loads when volume is light.
• Start and end every day at the East Brunswick yard.
