About The Position

This regional intermodal job runs out of the Kansas City area, and drivers average $1,500 a week. Drivers can take their truck home on the weekend and receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The role involves transporting containers to and from rail yards in Kansas City and St. Louis, and to customers within a 300-mile radius, covering Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Illinois. The job is primarily no-touch freight, with 75% drop and hook and 25% live load or unload by the customer. The schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, with 5 days out and 2 days home. The company provides modern equipment, including 100% automatic sleepers, mostly Freightliner tractors with 1500 watt inverters. Company-owned tractors, containers, and chassis are used. An on-site transportation manager is available 24/7 for dispatch, payroll, and questions.

Requirements

At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL.
3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years.
Hazmat endorsement required within 90 days of hire (cost reimbursed).
Ability to keep the tractor at home or at a safe, secure location on days off.
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
No careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years.
No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years.
No major preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
Must pass hair and urine drug testing.
No failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

Detention pay: $20 per hour after 1.5 hours on live loads, after 1 hour on drop and hook
Training pay: $225 per day for 3 to 5 days
