CDL-A Regional Driver – $89K Average + $2,500 Bonus
About The Position
The CDL-A Regional Driver delivers freight for a regional retail account from the Front Royal, Virginia area. The delivery territory includes Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Ohio, and West Virginia, within approximately 700 miles of Front Royal. Drivers travel approximately 1,100 miles per week and complete at least three loads per week, with approximately one to six stops per trailer. Freight is unloaded box by box using rollers, and drivers receive additional pay for full trailer unloads. Drivers are home weekly for a 34-hour reset. One week of paid ride-along training is provided at $150 per day, and on-site support staff are available 24/7. Average weekly pay is $1,750, equivalent to average annual pay of $89,000; top performers earn approximately $2,000 per week. All-in pay is up to $1.44 per mile, including base mileage and eligible additional pay. Base CPM rates vary with experience, from $0.77 for 0–11 months to $0.80 for 36 months or more. Additional compensation includes pay for trailer unloads, stops, backhauls, and qualifying weekly load completion. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is paid in scheduled installments, subject to remaining an active company driver on each payout date; terms may be modified or canceled with appropriate notice under applicable law. The position includes paid vacation that increases with service: one week after one year, two weeks after two years, and three weeks after seven years. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required according to the assigned schedule.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the last 36 months.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Must not be a SAP driver.
- Must be physically able to unload freight box by box using rollers.
- Patience and strong customer-service skills.
- Must be comfortable driving nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Must bring two weeks’ worth of personal supplies to orientation.
