CDL-A Reefer Driver – $0.66 CPM + Stop Pay + HOURLY Pay
About The Position
Drive dedicated refrigerated grocery freight for KROGER from Salem, Virginia, on local and regional routes using reefer trailers. Deliveries may require assisting with an electric pallet jack. The operation offers daily home time, with a minimum 34-hour reset during the week, and resets are completed at home. Drivers are guaranteed a 44-hour workweek and are paid through mileage, first-stop, and hourly pay. The position averages $100,000 annually, or approximately $1,923 weekly, with annual pay increases. Dispatch is first-in, first-out; route bids are based on seniority and occur twice per year. Weekends are required, and drivers remain on call until midnight before their scheduled day off. This is a union operation with company benefits and a pension.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 9 months of tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
- Must be at least 22 years old.
- No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years, subject to restrictions.
- No more than 1 DOT-recordable preventable accident in the past 3 years.
- FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse profile required before hire.
- Meet English language requirements for communication, traffic signs, official inquiries, and reports.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- No SAP drivers.
- Ability to operate refrigerated equipment and assist with electric pallet jack deliveries.
