About The Position
The CDL-A Local Intermodal Driver hauls intermodal containers on a local account based in Chicago, Illinois. Routes run throughout Chicago and into Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, and Indiana, with drivers returning home daily. The work includes frequent drop-and-hook operations, especially at night, as well as some live loading and unloading. Chicago traffic is part of the job. Day and night shift options are available. Listed weekly pay is $1,200–$1,400; no bonus, short-haul pay, or stop pay is offered.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Experienced, first-seat drivers only.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- SAP drivers are not accepted.
- Must be comfortable with Chicago traffic and local or out-of-state runs.
Responsibilities
- Haul intermodal containers on local routes throughout Chicago and into Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, and Indiana.
- Perform frequent drop-and-hook operations, particularly at night.
- Handle some live loading and unloading.
- Work scheduled days, including holidays when required.
- Return home daily.
