About The Position

This position involves operating heavy or specialized equipment in railroad construction, maintenance-of-way, and emergency response. The role requires extensive travel on a rotating schedule, comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, and performing physical labor such as digging and hammering. Safety and communication are key aspects of this job.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must pass background, drug screen, and physical capacity test
• Valid CDL-A with no restrictions with manual endorsement and DOT medical card required.
• Lifting 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
• Love working outside!

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively in rotating schedule for adequate work life balance (typically 8 days on, 6 days off)
• Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
• Digging, hammering, and other physical types of work with various tools
• Operate heavy or specialized equipment. (i.e. Tripp Mach, Mark IV Tamper, TKO, Regulator, M320, Trackhoe, Dozer, Crane, etc.)
• Practice safe working habits and ensure proper PPE is being used
• Communicate with team and supervisor throughout the job process
• Other duties as assigned
