CDL-A Driver
About The Position
This position is responsible for driving and operating the company’s long- and short-distance heavy trucks to support shipping and receiving operations. The driver delivers, picks up, and relocates products and materials, maintains required certifications and documentation, and provides customer service during delivery and pickup operations. The role may require overnight runs and travel on long-distance routes, as well as working outside in various weather conditions and maintaining a flexible schedule to meet job requirements. The driver is expected to follow The Mersino Way in daily activities and may be assigned other duties to support team operations.
Requirements
- CDL A required.
- At least 1 year of experience as a truck driver.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel long distances and overnight.
- Ability to perform intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
- Must meet the specific DOT requirements referenced in the job posting.
Responsibilities
- Operate company-owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
- Drive trucks to deliver, pick up, and relocate products and materials.
- Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation user maintenance and provide required reports.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Maintain all certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
- Maintain and protect entrusted property in excellent condition.
- Complete and manage required technical documentation.
- Drive heavy truck equipment on short- and long-distance routes as required.
- Make overnight runs as required by shipping needs.
- Learn to operate all material handling equipment used by the company.
- Work outside in various weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule to meet job requirements.
- Perform other tasks assigned to support and improve overall team operations.
