About The Position

As a Class A CDL Driver at United Rentals, you will help meet customers’ Trench Safety needs by delivering equipment safely, promptly, efficiently, and courteously. You will frequently interact with customers as a company ambassador and provide exceptional customer service. The position is local, and drivers are home every night. This role is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of DOT-regulated commercial driving experience.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
• Diligent attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate construction equipment, including semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys"), consistent with DOT classification CDL-A.
• Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest additional equipment and supplies that customers may need.
• Operate boom trucks and cranes in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Follow equipment-specific safety requirements, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
