About The Position

As a Class A CDL Driver at United Rentals, you will deliver equipment to customers safely, efficiently, courteously, and on time. You will interact frequently with customers as a company ambassador, provide exceptional customer service, and may suggest additional equipment and supplies they need. The role operates construction equipment and vehicles consistent with a CDL-A classification, follows applicable safety requirements, maintains driver logs, and completes pre-trip inspections. Drivers are local and are home every night. This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of DOT-regulated commercial driving experience.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.
Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
Diligent attention to safety.

Responsibilities

Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and low-boy trailers, consistent with DOT classification CDL-A.
Follow equipment-specific safety requirements, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need.
Provide exceptional customer service as a company ambassador.
Perform other duties as assigned.
