Drive a regional dry van fleet serving primarily Illinois, Iowa, and Ohio, with occasional trips to Georgia. Drivers average about 2,200 miles per week and approximately $1,400 per week, with mileage pay of $0.60 to $0.70 based on verifiable experience and $25 stop pay. Most trailers are preloaded and most deliveries are drop and hook, though some loads involve live loading or unloading. Drivers work weekends and take a 34-hour restart at home every week. Dispatch operates day and night, and drivers must be prepared to drive in winter weather, including snow and cold. New CDL holders train with a mentor on the same fleet for 3 to 5 weeks (about 200 to 250 hours) and receive $685 per week during training. Orientation takes place in Columbus, Ohio, for up to two days; the hotel is covered, the bus ticket is reimbursed, and $300 is paid once hired. Drivers with at least 6 months of recent OTR experience skip mentor training and receive an assigned truck after orientation. Pay is issued weekly by direct deposit. Benefits begin after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, a 401(k), an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, and access to a free online college degree for the driver and one family member.
