About The Position

The Driver/Dockworker position involves the timely pickup, labeling, loading, and delivery of shipments using required equipment, policies, and procedures. The role may involve driving a tractor-trailer to one or more customer locations and returning to the original domicile during the same shift. Drivers/Dockworkers may work days, nights, and/or weekends. The position includes loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, scanning, sorting, and stocking packages, potentially using heavy machinery. It also involves delivering and picking up packages at residential and/or commercial properties, using safe transportation methods, and providing efficient, dedicated customer service with the aid of technology. Employees are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) in the employee's home state.
HazMat endorsement.
Pass a UPS road test, DOT physical including a drug screen, and all necessary background checks.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Responsibilities

Timely pick up, label, load, and deliver shipments using required equipment, policies, and procedures.
Drive a tractor-trailer to customer locations and return to the original domicile during the same shift, as needed.
Load, unload, ship, receive, scan, sort, and stock packages.
Use material handling equipment and potentially heavy machinery to handle freight and packages.
Deliver and pick up packages at residential and/or commercial properties using safe transportation methods.
Use technology to support delivery services and provide efficient, dedicated customer service.
Comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.
