This position offers regional miles close to home for drivers in Pasadena and Southeast Houston. We provide paid training for new CDL holders. If you are new to the CDL school with no experience, you will start with a paid mentor and then run regional lanes that keep you close to Houston. The compensation includes $850 a week during training, a guaranteed $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo, and $1,100 to $1,300 a week once solo, with an average of 1,700 to 2,000 miles per week and $15 stop pay. Drivers receive weekly direct deposit. The freight is regional out of Houston, with different customers each week, featuring drop and hook and live loads. Drivers can expect to be home every two weeks, often through the house. The process from CDL school to your own truck involves a recruiter call to review your CDL and driving record, a short orientation (2 days max) with paid hotel and reimbursed bus ticket, and $300 upon hiring. This is followed by 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor for training in backing, trip planning, logs, and fueling, with a weekly pay of $850. After training, you will get your own assigned truck, averaging about 1.5 years old, with an automatic or 10-speed transmission. For the first 3 months solo, your pay is guaranteed not to drop below $1,000 a week. We provide straight answers for new drivers regarding home time, orientation costs, support on the road, CDL school hour requirements, and pay guarantees.
