About The Position
This is a dedicated last-mile distribution fleet operating out of Aberdeen, MD. Drivers will earn an average of $1,625+ weekly ($84,500 yearly average) with a $33.60/hr hourly pay rate. The role involves hands-on delivery of home furniture and retail merchandise using hand trucks and hand tools, with lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering up to 300 lbs. Outbound loads are preloaded, and drivers load returns. Drivers will operate regionally throughout MD, DE, PA, NY, CT, NJ, RI, VT, NH, MA, and ME, with virtually no NYC driving. Drivers will depart Sunday PM/Monday AM and return Friday/Saturday AM for a 34-hour home reset, averaging 70 hours per week with possible mid-week nights home. Shifts start between 0500 and 0600. Drivers will be assigned their own day cab tractor, which stays parked at the terminal during home resets. The position includes 2 weeks of paid training with a mentor, with hotels provided.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 months of commercial driving experience acquired in the past 6 months.
- Physical strength for heavy furniture offloading.
- Reliable daily personal transport.
- Clean results from strict hair follicle and urine substance screenings.
