About The Position
The CCU Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries who require intensive monitoring and support. The role includes assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, operating life-support equipment, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes. Candidates with experience in an ICU, emergency room, emergency department, or another hospital critical care area are encouraged to apply. This is a per-diem day-shift position at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama, with listed hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Requirements
- Hold a current and valid state RN license.
- Hold a current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
- Obtain a current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a Critical Care Course.
- At least one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining CCU standards of care.
- Remain responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate changes in a patient's clinical condition to the physician, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
