About The Position

The CCSS Scholarship and Stewardship Coordinator creates processes and procedures and oversees the administration of annual scholarship and endowed accounts for the Capstone Center for Student Success (CCSS). Oversees award decisions and stewardship of scholarships. Creates processes and procedures for departmental scholarship decisions, ensuring that departments are handling the scholarship processes and procedures appropriately within their departments. Provides guidance for departmental award decisions. Maintains detailed database of all scholarship funds available, their source, and MOA award criteria. Reviews and updates database regularly to ensure that all scholarship funds are being appropriately allocated. Establishes and executes stewardship guidelines and stewardship plans for all CCSS endowments and gift funds. Additional Department Summary: The Capstone Center for Student Success provides programs, services, and strategic initiatives that support student persistence, retention, graduation, and overall academic success. This position oversees a growing portfolio of scholarship and gift funds, supports alignment with donor intent and institutional priorities, and develops systems to monitor fund activity, student impact, expenditures, balances, and distributions. Provides project management, budget oversight, data analysis, communication support, and operational leadership for initiatives connected to student-success funding within the Center overall. Ensures that scholarship and endowment resources are administered responsibly, communicated clearly, and used effectively to advance the mission of the Capstone Center for Student Success and The University of Alabama. Provides leadership for the administration, stewardship, reporting, and continuous improvement of scholarship and fund management processes in partnership with Advancement, Financial Affairs, CCSS leadership, and other campus partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of scholarship, stewardship, or financial aid experience; OR master's degree or higher and some scholarship, stewardship, or financial aid experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, University systems and reporting tools used for scholarship administration, student records, fund management, advancement reporting, budgeting, and data tracking, including systems such as Banner, ASAM, DENNY, and related institutional platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing programs, projects, budgets, scholarships, gift funds, endowment funds, or related financial/operational processes in a higher education, nonprofit, advancement, student services, or similarly complex administrative environment (7+ years).
  • Experience preparing reports, tracking financial or programmatic data, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and handling confidential student, financial, donor, or institutional information with discretion.
